Invest Europe launches enhanced ESG reporting template

Published 13 December 2024

PrintCategory: Impact and ESG

Invest Europe has launched an enhanced ESG reporting template to drive convergence and support early-stage investors developed with Venture ESG.

The updated template introduces new guidance for seed and early-stage venture capital fund managers and portfolio companies. The template aims to provide private equity and venture capital Limited Partners and General Partners with an optimized and voluntary tool for reporting ESG metrics, policies and practices.

The reporting template has been revised in part to recognize the needs for venture capital fund managers with seed or early-stage strategies, and how they differ from more mainstream investors due to maturity of their portfolio companies and/or lack of data point. The updated template introduces therefore a new “minimum” complement and a proportional approach by increasing reporting expectations across three stages (minimum, recommended and full reporting).

The template reflects a harmonized and unified set of ESG reporting KPIs and is further aligned with regulatory requirements such as EU’s SFDR.

The new template can be found here.
